Refund policy
Effective 2026-05-21. British English throughout.
The short version
You can request a full refund within fourteen calendar days of your purchase, no questions asked. Reading modules and completing the module quizzes does not affect the refund — trying the course out is part of evaluating whether it works for you. The refund is forfeited only when you pass the final assessment and your certificate is issued.
Module 1 is free for everyone. The refund policy applies to the £10 paid course (and its Purchasing Power Parity equivalents in lower-income regions).
How to request a refund
You have three routes, in order of speed:
- Self-service from your account. Sign in, go to
/account/billing, and click Request refund. The button is live for fourteen days from the purchase date. - From the receipt email. Every purchase receipt carries a one-click refund link valid for fourteen days from the purchase date.
- By email. Write to support@phlebotomy-course.com with the order ID from your receipt. We acknowledge within one working day and process within seven.
You do not need to give a reason within the fourteen-day window. If you tell us why, it helps us improve the course — but it has no bearing on whether we approve the refund.
When the refund window closes
The refund window closes the moment any of the following happens:
- Fourteen calendar days have passed since the purchase was recorded against your account.
- You have passed the final assessment and your certificate has been issued. The certificate is the lasting product; once you have it, the purchase has done its job and is no longer eligible for refund. The page where you submit a passing attempt warns you of this prominently before you confirm.
Failed assessment attempts do not forfeit the refund — only a passing attempt that mints a certificate does. You can fail the assessment, request a refund inside the window, and we honour it.
Refunds beyond fourteen days
Refunds outside the fourteen-day window are at our discretion and are granted only for documented technical issues that genuinely prevented you from accessing the course — a sustained site outage, a broken module that we acknowledge and could not fix within a reasonable time, or a billing error on our side.
We’d rather hear about a technical problem than read about it later — write to support@phlebotomy-course.com the moment something is wrong and we’ll work it out.
How long the refund takes to reach you
Refunds are processed via our payment partner and reach your card within five to ten working days, depending on your bank. We email a confirmation the moment we issue the refund; if your card has expired since the purchase, our payment partner will reach out for the new card details.
The refund is always returned to the original payment method. We cannot refund to a different card or to a bank account; this is a constraint of card-network rules, not a choice on our side.
What happens to your access on refund
When a refund is processed, your paid course access is revoked. Modules 2–10 lock again; Module 1, the free preview, remains accessible because it is free for everyone. Your account itself is not deleted — you can re-purchase later and pick up where your progress left off.
If you had earned a certificate before the refund (only possible inside the window for failed attempts that were later retaken successfully — an unusual case), the refund cannot proceed; the policy in the section above applies.
UK consumer-protection context
Some legal context, in plain English. Once you access any paid module you have agreed to immediate supply of digital content, which under the UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 waives the statutory fourteen-day cooling-off right. Our fourteen-day no-questions-asked refund continues to apply on top of that, as a brand promise. Your separate statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 — that the course be of satisfactory quality, fit for its purpose, and as described — are not affected by anything on this page and cannot be excluded.
If you live outside the UK, the consumer-protection laws of your country of residence may give you rights additional to those described here. Where they do, those rights apply on top of, not instead of, our policy. We apply the more-protective standard if there is a conflict.
Refunds on voucher and gift-code redemptions
If you redeemed a voucher or invite code at /redeem rather than paying directly, this refund policy does not apply because there is no money for us to return to you. If the code was given to you by an employer or training programme, raise any access concerns with whoever issued the code; if there is a course-quality problem, the technical-issue route in the section above applies.
